What do you proud Indians think about the bribery that officials and civilians take from the terrorist and other departments equally? Aren't we Indians becoming selfish? give your views.........

Because people think more of himself or herself. If the nation comes first before any individual interest, people will automatically stop to be selfish. Spread of patriotism is the need of the day.

Are we selfish? The question is simple but the answer is more simple to say yes. Everyone is hiding behind 'I don't want to be selfish but others are so, hence I am also so.

Democracy gives space to many selfish behaviors.

Just watch the following:
1. We want reservation because we are backward. A cry by those did not get reservation.
2. We don't want to be treated as creamy layer. A cry by those who got edict to reservation.
3. We want separate state. A cry by those who did not become minister.
4. We want sub-division in reservation in reservation. A cry by sub-group in reserved group.
5. We want to start a new party. A cry by those who could not get control on their party.

etc...etc....

Why this selfishness?
Is it for food? Not at all!
Is it for cloth? not so!
Is it for security? Not really so!

All this is as we have no concern for others and less privileged.
We want to compare with those living better than us and get greedy.

Where is the solution?

Yes think of those underprivileged and help them.

Needless to say..we all are becoming selfish.. due to these selfish reasons only we take bribe and give bribe.. due this selfishness only we chase others dream and forget our own..

We are not becoming selfish..Men are selfish by nature.. its a human tendcy to behave selfishly.. when we see anything in our favor then we cannot resist in trying that.. no matter it is a sin or something good.. We all are selfish and will remain one..

We all are selfish and we will be sefish untill we die.. everyone is selfish and why wont they be? world is selfish and people are becoming liek this because of the others only.. you are selfish and even I am selfish because If I get chance to help ohers I will do that because it will make me feel better.. I am doing it for my own selfish interest.. SO it depends which way sefish you are...I am proud of my selfishness.. B-)

I agree with you! everyone is selfish in their own little way.. if they help others then they are selfish and if they dnt help poor or people in need then also they are selfish.. some people's selfish is a matter of proud and some people's selfishness is a matter of grief..

I help others too but i dnt think I am selfish because I do it not my own selfishness but because people should help each other.. I don't get any satisfaction in that I do it because its my duty and one must help someone in trouble..

Every man is selfish. It is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Selfish men think for themselves only. Selfishness creates barriers and distances between the close relationships. The people are very much concern for their family, how they will earn more than the next door neighbor. Even the school students behave very strangely with their class mates. The people are self centered. They are running after the material wealth and they are loosing the quality time from their life.

yes we are becoming selfish indeed. in today's world people are so greedy that they have conflicts within their families. people are selfish to make money. people want poor peoples land for low cost to make huge buildings on the space. not thinking of the displaced people where shall they acclimatize themselves in a new habitat again.

I would prefer to use the word Self-Centered, because at times we do make a show of helping others but we have an ulterior motive,either we gain indirectly or directly. Politicians are the perfect example in this regard.

its in human nature to be selfish at times. we cannot expect a whole population to be kind and generous. but there are still people who are kind enough to show their gratitude to others. our nation is quite known for hospitality we show to outsiders, and i think only this quality of ours is degrading and we need to just re-think on this issue

Every one is selfish by nature but when this habit affect the society & nation it is dangerous. Our politicians are burning example of this.

Yes we are becomings elfish and thinking about our own interest and grievinences. Its only we who think about ourselves and do not consider the nation as our duty. Tehre are several responsibilities that we need to fulfill towards our nation and we are all lagging behind in this due to our selfish nature and fulfilling only our own selfish interests.

Its not that we are becoming selfish, this is not the right idea on indians. It is only the government officials who are venile and culpable. When you are given powers to openly take bribe without any fear whatsoever, you would you hesitate? It is in human nature to long for more and have greed. It is just that these people are too much lost inside their greed that they are not realizing what they are doing to the nation.
