Languages of India
Language of India : There are more than 1652 languages in India. At different times, many linguistic groups entered India. India is a land of hundreds of ethnic groups. And all of them have contributed towards the formation of composite Indian culture. There is not even a single example of another country that has so many languages. Yet we are one. We are Indian and it’s the spirit that will lead us ahead in the path of progress.
Many Indians can speak three languages -- English as the international language, Hindi as the national language of India and another regional language which can be mother tongue.
The English newspaper having the largest circulation is published from India. India has the largest number of English speaking people in the world. And it’s more than the population of England where English is the native language.
It is also observed that language create division in our country. Is it the result of formation of linguistic states? What I think is that states should be there for an effective and decentralized administration but states should not be formed on the basis of language in India.
Any district of a country can be included in any states. And it should be changed after every five years. I think it will lead to all the divisions amongst us created by the linguistic states. What will be the drawbacks and what will be the advantages? Any comments from the proud Indians ?

Languages of India
India is famous for its diverse culture and this diversity is very much seen not only the way people eat, drink and dress up, but it is also evident from the language they speak. India has many languages, but the two most prevailing languages are English and Hindi. Hindi is the national language of our nation, but people belonging to different states prefer speaking their native language. This in one way is creating negative impact on our culture and now diversity is ruling over unity.

india is a multi-linguistic nation and we are proud that we belong to a nation which has people speaking 1652 languages which is unique in this world!!. though we have lots of diversity in languages and cultures we morally stand united together as a nation which is great lesson for others to learn. we should try to preserve all our languages as these are the assets of nation.

Hindi is also just accepted as National language- it still has not got that importance and acceptance by many Indian states. Marathi is my mother tongue and i am proud about it too.

Evey state has got its regional language..and every state has also got its own culture..we cant negate regional language...inorder to use Hindi...come on Hindi is used when an non-regional person wants to communical..with local person...this doesnt take away the credit of Hindi usage in the country...our regional culture is strongly connected to its regional Language...this has been followed since centuries...I come from Telangana region of Andhra..our culture differs from those of coastal andhra and rayalaseema.

i am proud to be part of a nation where there are over 1500 languages spoken. no nation can boast of this as most of the countries have only one or two languages spoken. moreover, with this diverse languages we all are togetherly indians. we should preserve this asset of our nation and pass on it to the next generation.

When we speak an Indian language, we shouldn't use english words. it's because of the respect for this language. Every other proud nation in the world has his language and is not using words of an other language.
