India in spite of being a key food-producing nation worldwide accounts for less than 1.5% in terms of global food-business. But GDP estimates this sector's approximate expansion to be between 9-12%. Food-Processing Industry provides 1.6 million individuals job opportunities, and this figure is assumed to reach 37 million by till 2025.

Food processing Industry holds good amount of potential for growth. But unless we become surplus in domestic supply for basic agricultural products, venturing into food processing industry at the stake of current supplies can turn out to be not-so-good.
