Default FDI in Education-Do you think it could bring a revolution in Indian education?

Many of the people in government are of the opinion to introduce FDI in Education sector. If this is given a go officially, foreign universities, institutes, colleges, schools will start functioning here and this would bring down the necessity of Indian students to go abroad and study. Do you think this would have positive impacts on Indian students or negative impact? please share your views.

I think there are more advantages than disadvantages from bringing in FDI in Education. Introducing FDI in Education in India will bring in various top level universities and institutes. Students in India can apply to them and avail international education here itself without paying much amount when compared to the amount they shed for studying abroad. Another advantage would be that Indian institutes would face competition from the foreign institutes which will indirectly make the indian institutes strive harder and improve their facilities.
