Thread: the blue rebellion 1859

in march 1859 farmers started a blue rebellion in west bengal. they all refused to grow indigo which was in great demand in european nations due to its high quality. they refused to be exploited and bullied by the british planters. this was a big rebellion but still in our indian history not many are aware about it. do you agree?

yes i do agree.. it is indeed a great rebellion by the bengalis. there were more such rebellions, like salt satyagrah.. we had a tough time during the british rule and many did revolt against their exploitation and injustice. we should include such interesting facts in the books of schooling so that every child comes to know about the richness of indian history
