    The famous Indian Epics of india are
    The Mahabharata (one lakh verses) and the Ramayana (24000) verses reflect the social setup of the later Vedic age. The Mahabharata written by Vyasa is said to describe the period ranging from 10 B.C. to 4 A.D. while the Ramayana by Valmiki describes the period from 5 BC to 12 AD.
