Default Kargil Vijay Diwas : Army feels ignored

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took time out to take part in the 220th anniversary of the Bastille Day in Paris. But neither he nor any senior government official has time to participate in the 10th anniversary of the victory over Pakistan in Kargil.

The forces are disappointed and the veterans feel let down.

After two months of blood and sweat, the Indian Armed Forces finally had the glory at Kargil. The victory came at the cost of 530 soldiers while over 700 others were injured. Ten years down the line, the forces are feeling let down – ignored and neglected.

While the prime minister is away in France, no other political elite in the country has any inclination to join the victory celebrations. In fact, there are no grand celebrations planned out in the capital to commemorate the grand victory over Pakistan in 1999.

Sources in the ministry of defence said there will be a wreath laying ceremony at Amar Jawan and the celebrations will take place in Drass. But forces feel that is not enough. It was the nation's victory at Kargil. But only division level celebrations are being organised at Drass. None of the leaders, not even the defence minister, is taking part in the celebrations.

Veterans say the country's elite are looking at victory celebrations through political blinkers. Is victory not being celebrated because it came at a time when the BJP was at the helm of affairs or is it that the government is too timid to antagonise Pakistan? Whatever be the reason, the soldiers are feeling let down.

Default It is unfortunate but we are with our soldiers

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Hindustan..

We are proud to be with our soldiers and their ever best effort they made to liberate our land from the intruders (our enimy)

Taking the opportunity to pay our HOMAGE to those who lose the life and injured for the sake our beloved Nation. "WE THANK YOU AND SALUTE YOU" before your courage and dedication.

On the other point of view, as to IGNORE the remembrance of the service you did for the nation is please do not heed or consider as seriously. Because, it is politics! Secondly, the Government should attend to international forums to convey the message of INDIA and to present and participate in the events for the betterment of nation.

We all remember "Bharat humko jaan se pyara hain " but do we remember those people who just lost their lives to prove this line, we dont even know how many Brave Soldiers were killed in that battle, but we just remember we have won and dont bother to remember those who make us win, just read these lines by heart "Ae mere watan ke logo, zara ankh main bhar lo pani; jo shahid hue hain unki, zara yaad karo qurbani;jab ghayal hua Himalya, khatre main padi aazadi;jab tak thi saans lade woh, phir apni laash bichadi;sangeen pe dhar ke maatha, ho gaye amar balidani;jo Shaheed hue hain unki, zara yaad karo qurbani

Pay regards to All Brave Soldiers, Salute to Indian Army

Congress do not want army , they are stooges of bureaucrats who feel they can run India without any one. Nehru said army is not needed and had to hang his head in shame for 1962 debacle so will happen to Manmohan singh and all congress party. these people are just here to make money or to please miniorities.

    God save India !

It is obvious why they will remember Kargil. All political parties know how Kargil was created and lives of 530 soldiers were sacrificed. But why they will remember the past. They will definitely remember the attack on Parliament because it has involved their lives. The lives of our citizen and the soldiers is common for the politicians, as if the ants are dying while we walk. Earthworm must die while tilling the land. That is the mentality of our Politicians including bureaucracy.

The politicians will only be interested in their own affairs and not of others
