    Default Child Marriage act 1929!

Child marriage was banned and govt has put restrain on child marriage that Girls less than 18years are not suppose to marry and boys less than 20 years will be put behind the bars in case they marry. This law was established to stop child marriage but is this still prevelant? I can see many children in the remote areas of hariyana and rajashtan where children are forcibly married at the age of studying. Will it ever stop!?

No consequences are there still people are doing forcibly marriage of their children at the tender age when they should study they are handling the burden of families on their shoulders. These things happens a lot in remote areas such as Rajasthan and HP.

Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929 is a worth mentioning endeavor of the Indian Government. According to this act marriage of a male below d age of 21 and a female below 18 years cannot be solemnized. It was a step taken to prevent child marriage. If any marriage where either of the contracting party has not attained the age as mentioned in d act, the marriage is regarded as unlawful and are punishable under Sections 3 and 4 of the act with imprisonment of either not exceeding 15days or not exceeding 3months or with fine not exceeding Rs.1000 or both as per the sections provide. Although such provisions are made, child marriage is still ubiquitous and practiced in some parts of the country. People are still unaware of the consequences of such marriages. Apart from this act, the government has to promote awareness programs showcasing the negative effects of child marriage.
