Default Alcohol should be banned in India

don't take it for granted that alcohol is consumed only in cities.if you have a look at some rural parts of our country you people will be astonished to find many People has spoiled their life due to this alcohol and its one of the main reason for their death. That is why I believe alcohol should be banned if we want to give our country a better future..

You might have gone with the news that recently a man killed his wife as she didn't give him the money to buy alcohol and this is a common thing in the country .I know that alcohol industry gives employment to a large no of Indians but its not at all beneficial at the cost of someone's life...employment can also be provided through other sources but you cannot get your life again...........

so according to me .. Alcohol should be banned in India !!

Alcohol cannot be banned as Govt. gets maximum revenue out of it. But yes there should surely be some kind of preventive measures that can help in destroying the negative impacts of Alcohol. As there are already some rules for stopping minors from consuming alcohol, but that will not be all and there should be measures, which can even control the violence created after consumption of alcohol.

banning alcohol is not the right thing to do as consuming alcohol in limits is not a harm. though the cultural values are being affected due to the trends that support alcohol consumption, banning it is not the solution. however limiting its usage could be a better way of controlling things. measures must be taken to prevent minors and drivers to consume alcohol.

Dude if the govt. legalises opium, LSD, cocaine etc I am sure they will surpass the revenue level of alcohols...

In reality alcohol is a poison just like the above things.

I know banning alcohol is not possible now.. The best option is to increase the the price and it can only be sold in elite bars and hotels....

Alcohol is like an entertainment ... and only people who have accomplished something in their life should be allowed to enjoy it... Not some low class person whose daily income is less than Rs 50 (only these type of people can kill their wife for alcohol not rich people) ....

in my perspective banning the alcohol completely would cause a turbulence in the economy but yes there could be some barricades that would cause lesser use of alcohol. one of them could be increasing the prices of alcohol so that people do not prefer drinking it. prices should be as such that atleast newbies do not venture into drinking.

In my view, completely banning alcohol would not solve the purpose. Rather the usage could be limited. The usage should be monitored according to the region. Since India is a tropical country, there is no use of alcohol consumption except for the sake of habitual or occasional drinking.

I disagree with this view. Aren't there cases of drink-drive-kill cases where some BMW or Mercedes runs on the sleeping pedestrians? Aren't they rich? We should limit the sale of alcohol and spread awareness of its ill-effects in country like India where alcohol can only be used to serve the purpose of quenching the thirst or desire to drink alcohol.
