Mostly, the economy of Jammu and Kashmir depends on the traditional occupation which includes horticulture, animal husbandry and the most common one agriculture. This forms the economy of the state of India. This state is affected by the continuous insurgency and violence, the economy of J and K is not developed or you can say its underdeveloped. However, in past few years, government of J&K has taken few important steps to enhance the financial conditions of Jammu and Kashmir as well as to improve the standards of living of local people.
