Thread: Developing Senseful Media

-We have blamed sufficiently the media and its any other form of existance in India.
- We all have recieved the mails of Aaj-Tak and other showing dog whereas BBC showing some Kashmir patriot footage.
- We all see scandles,true or false,only at time of elections.
-We see NDTV India showing poll results night before real results came in.
- We all have seen the beground musics of India-TV and what they call news!!
- We all had seen some pandit sitting there talking astrology.

There may be lot more points then this.
Let list out following points :-

1) What should be shown in media ( give in priority order)
(Defence,Sports,Politics-International,politics national,etc)

2) Saturday and sunday special guests.

3) Friday evening should be Bollywood night.( optional )

4) Technology should have 1 hr daily.(which hour)

5) Daily morning should have local deaths and mourn reports so that people who wants to attend can attend.

6) Daily noon should be - new shop openings,new series like Mcdonald opening etc.

7) TV Discussion can be from 4 to 6 PM.


This is what I think.Please write your Ideas.So we can send "Encyclopedia of improvements in Indian media " to various media people.

Well almost a fair list. What I want is priority to the news related to us in different part of India. As India is a mixed economy the economic news should also get priority....and if it sounds bore then add the things Mr. Mayank mentioned above.

Indian media should be sensible enough in dealing the sensitive issues like Mumbai attacks and other terrorist attacks. They should not open the secrets and teh positions of teh commandos on the TV. As it would make things worse..

Well you have suggested some of the good ideas for the Indian meida.. they should show what is useful for the people and must reveal the reality of the POliticians and corrupted people.. time must be managed by them properly..

Senseful media can only be developed when media persons rise above from the TRP's greed.. it is important for the channel but that does not mean at all to destroy the level of the news channels and showing the nonsense all the time...

I completely agree with you Sarah.. I guess the media is playing the dumb ass role in the part of politicians.. they are not interested in the real picture of the life but rather showing the masala mixes to increase the TRP's.. which is very wrong..

media due to its selfish nature these days have become more of senseless. sometimes when media do not have right news to show, they start showing TV shows and baseless news such as Astrology and stuff. this downgrades the level of indian media as news channels are not ought to show such things.

the owners of india media are growing selfish these days and therefore to meet their selfish demands the quality of news is degrading. people are ignorant of facts that media manipulates a lot before showing things on tv. more over there are many unwanted things shown on tv which are merely based to grab viewers attention. media should have motto of bringing the needy to the attention

Whatever list you have given is impossible to follow as there are many breaking news that happens now and then. Moreover, media is more interested in showing what people like the most, the indian media is becoming senseless and least interested in social problems of india. They are hardly bother about the political leaders corruption matters as they are afraid of their jobs. today the media is lagging behind in the courage and in revealing the truth. So it is quite tough to develop a sensible media nowadays when everyone is busy in cooking their meals.

Many of the news channels are broadcasting utter nonsense on their news channels. Aaj tak, Star news are few amongst them, leaving alone the regional news channels. Most of the times, the news is about the soaps and serials which are about to be broadcasted on tv for next session. Don't we have anything better to show? Do you think we are running out of news or are the news channels behaving irresponsible?
