Is India media really educating people in right manner?
Indian media is working 24 hours to furnish people with latest entertainments and news. People nowadays is making Indian media responsible for perverting the environment, by showing movies and adds which are creating bad impacts on child’s mind. Today a general viewing movies, has enough violence, sex and abusive language that the tender minds of children are being effected in quite a negative way. Whenever media is questioned about this flaw, they always come out with answer; that they are trying to educate people and society.
What are your views regarding this step of media?

i dont think indian media is really educating people in right manner as they are mostly after their TRPs. though few channels report informative news but most of it is nonsense which they utter just to grab attention and make the show go on. atleast few media channels should be dedicated towards well being of us indians.

to an extent i would like to say yes, media is educating people.. but not always in a right way and not always adequately too. people need a clear understanding of things and some of the things are not right for a class of people which are shown on tv. media need to keep in view that broadcasting certain content can influence the budding minds.

Not all the time, some media like NDTV and DD channels do take initiatives in educating the people. But i do not think that is sufficient. Educating in the right way with sufficient stuff is the need of hour. Media can prove to be an important tool in educating people if it does this job carefully with little efforts. This is because media reaches almost all the homes of our country and with this education can become more prominent and successful.

Indian media is now towards the downhill. Daily soaps, news, reality shows, etc, etc are showing non-sense. Since 1990s people were watching news like a daily routine. And now if people don't find any interesting stuffs on TV they switched to news channel. Our public profile are also involved in such terrible thing. Like Harbhajan Singh giving an ad for a liquor company, Dhoni in an ad of bike where he is carrying 10 people all around. These people are heroes for kids and youth. if they will follow the same trend, then just think what will be our next generation societies look alike.

Indian media is playing the role of blame game and as far as educating people or youngsters in the right manner, sorry to say but they are behaving or teaching irresponsible behavior to the aspirants of media houses. those people who wants to enter in to the media learn all the TRP funda from them and nothing else.

Exactly yes. Being media they have a huge responsibility on them to give society a right direction. Rather than giving a proper and perfect information they are more involved in spicy stuffs. That is ridiculous and pathetic condition. Medial will play an important role for India to be a better place to reside and to become a developed country.

@livelyfire: Thanks for agreeing and in fact I say that these media people actually telling or educating the mass comm students the behavior which can only fetch you money and nothing else. These people have hardly anything to do regarding the responsibility. they remain silent on issues that need people's voices or mass rallies.

In my view it is educating people to some extent but the way is certainly not the right way. We have a mix of vulgarity on television along with other good things which makes a bad impact on the children and youth. So media should rather cull out the vulgarities and understand Indian culture and their responsibilities towards it.

Media's role is to create awareness among the people and educate the society at large. However, it is sad that Indian media has forgotten it real objective of uplifting the Indian society and educating the people in the right manner. The daily soaps and serials shows the negative side of the society which influences the minds of the people. Most of the crimes that takes place now-a-days is mostly influenced by media. There is no doubt that Indian media have been beneficial but it has lost its track in the midst of competition and other influences.
