Default why should the Media be spared from questioning ?

In any democratic set up media has a role to play and is an integral part of the set up. But few individuals can not arrogate to selves or can proclaim selves, as the entire media. Media is an institution and no individual is above that. Ms. Barkha Dutt, A Rajdeep Sardesai, Some Vir Sanghvi is not entire media. Equating entire media with all or any of these Maharathis reminds me of a Barua saying: Indira is India and India is Indira.

What I do not understand is: Post Mumbai Mayhem, when everyone is being questioned, why should the Media be spared and excluded from questioning/scrutiny for the role it played when the operation flushing out terrorists was still on?

Why should the MSM not be held accountable for its omission and commissions? Is MSM above law? Is MSM beyond re-approach?

Talking about Indian media is like talking about some entertainment channel.. It has become the channel to entertain people and making them fool at each end of their lives.. News channels are busy in making money these days.. so better do not disturb them !!

Default Media has become the first pillar from the fourth pillar of the constitution

When India became independent it became so because of proper communication between the people. Today the News Media especially the television related has become a costly affair. Now where did this money comes from, it comes from the Industrialists. Now who these industrialists are?
They were all the Landlords of Older India who kept India in dark for 2500 years. Now they have again started moving on the same older track but at an unnoticeable speed. Those who who know about Government of India act 1919 & GOI Act 1935 know better what future of India did the british had decided already & India is following the same path. In the 50's large number of dams were built in different regions of the country moving large number of people out of there homelands on the name of development. Many projects were started at that time & these landlords got a chance to become white collared industrialists. whats is strange is that the water from dams available to these industrialists but not to the farmers. Till end of march 200 farmers had already committed suicide in Vidharbha region due to poor crop of BT Cotton which requires huge quantity of water.
Govt. want to create creame layer among the middle class hence they encourage Lavish products like Costly Shampoos, A/Cs.
Advertisments are the nerve of the News Media. They tell us the direction in which they want all middle class to move. They want to keep us in virtual world that is why they never tell us in the adv. that how many Crores actress has taken for some shampoo adv.

Default Why should the media be spared from questioning?

The media today is spared from questioning, because they are just the puppets of some powerful people in politics and other great celebrities, who turn and twist media for their own benefit. Media today actually do not know the fact behind any issue and they somewhere do not even want to know. All media today is doing is presenting new in most entertaining way and mending money.

i dont think media should be spared from questioning as no one beyond reproach. if media is given certain rights to question people and officials even they should be eligible to put through questions. media of india should act more responsible and should not a bring such a situation that they are questioned.

media should not be spared from questioning as they are also liable to answer certain contradictory statements or issues projected to the people. it is their responsibility to show trusted and truthful news to the public so that there is no wrong contention among the public viewers.

I don't think media should be spared from questioning. They are also liable to answer their action and just by being a instrument of our Democracy they cannot escape from being questioned. Media has always misused their freedom and by questioning their acts, it will help Media to become more responsible and work according to what they are actually expected to do.
