Patriotism is a word used by those in power for their own benefit to mobilise simple minded people and get them to do things they wouldnt otherwise do. And unfortunately it works

An old man was planting a sapling in his garden. Another man saw it and told him as to why he is taking trouble as the tree will not give any fruits during his life time. The old man said, dear friend, if all are selfish like you how the world will improve and how the next generation will survive. In the same way, if the people fought for the independence of India had thought like this selfish gentleman, we would not have got independence. This is called Patriotism.

Not yet and won't be in the near future. I can proudly say that the Patriotism of our common man is much more stronger than those who make tall talks. This was observed when the people contributed for the war expenses when we were attacked by Pakistan. The spirit of Patriotism is still burning in every citizens heart.

patriotism is not Just to fight for our country and then going to die for our country, because every one fight for own, but to remain alive till you would not get your right to live independently for your nation, so that you could serve your country, by any motion or movement.

According to me patriotism is a feeling which exists in almost every man which leads him to do a thing that would make his country proud that would be able to earn a recognition for the country universally and which gives him the courage to abolish the injustice, faulty methods and anti social things to make the nation flawless and thus make it stand on the top of the world.

    Patriotism Dead ?

I am actually confused at this question because at times i feel nothing is left but moments later I feel there is so much of it that it can never die.So patriotism in India is present in every individual but it is closely concealed and is waiting for a right opportunity to come out.

    What is patriotism?
Patriotism is loving your country without hating others. Patriotism is loving your countrymen. Patriotism is being real about what your country is and acting accordingly. Patriotism is firmly rejecting all people who hate other countrymen. Patriotism is considering yourself to be Indian much more than Hindu, Punjabi or Delhiite. Patriotism is thinking just for one moment about your country instead of yourself at the end of the day. That's what I call patriotism. What do you?

But wait, patriotism can also be exaggerated. I mean where is the line between simple affection to the culture one is born in and fanatism? I think the question of exaggerated patriotism is also a very important question nowadays, because people can easily be manipulated by politicians if they have a wrong understandig of patriotism. This is also an important question for the United States.

I guess more than being idealistic patriotism deals more with practical realities, like more then emotions it is to work for the betterment for your country at your level.. like follow your duties and being aware of rights..

Patriotism is a feeling that comes within. It cannot be aroused but can be felt within the heart. When you cannot listen anything wrong about the country and ready to sacrifice your everything for the mother nation then the feeling that comes in your heart is usually considered as a patriotic feeling. I am proud to be an indian and will always be!

When someone feel for the country or may be the feeling that comes within at the time of fall of the nation where you are living in. This feeling usually can be called as a feeling of patriotism and according to me different people have different patriotic feelings. Patriotism is mainly a matter related to heart and soul. No one can force you to be patriotic and die for the country until you want. Patriotism is a feeling that comes from inside.

When I sing national anthem it rekindles my patriotic feelings and inspire me to hold my head high under every condition. Moreover, I feel proud of those soldiers who are providing courage and strength to every Proud citizen of the nation for holding their heads high under every situation.
