India, at the moment, is regarded as the largest democracy in the global arena and definitely, maintenance of this democratic structure, in spite of lots of ups and downs, has been a great success of this post-independent nation. It can be said with conviction devoid of the effective role of the Elections system ; India couldn’t have stayed as a constitutional democracy in conjunction with a parliamentary system of government.
