Reservation in India
Politics of Reservation will Divide India.India is a secular state and thus there are several regions which can flow freely together. The population of the magical country of India is huge and there are several sections in which the population is divided into. There are privileged classes of people who are financially extremely sound and can compete with the richest men of the entire world. At the same time there are other backward classes who can barely afford their meal. Such being the diversity of the country, it is extremely tough for the government to function. The bridge between the classes has to be reduced if the country has to move forward in any way. The way, the government has been trying to improve is by declaring reservations in various public sectors for people of the backward classes. However this issue is a hugely debatable one. The idea of making people who do not deserve the post or have not qualified for the post, sit in posts which are extremely crucial like, administrators and doctors can have a dangerous effect.
The political parties find this reservation game a very fruitful one in terms of buying them vote banks, but how much positive has this aspect helped the country is yet to be seen. Efforts should have rather been put in improving the educational and health standard of people of these classes and make them fit to compete with the general class. The monetary relaxation can or should be given to these under privileged people. However the idea of giving them, free jobs and that too of posts which are of tremendous importance in the context of successful running of the nation is not quite acceptable. This way, the nation would rather move backward and it would be extremely hash on deserving candidates who would not get the job because of this reservation.
I feel that reservation is being used as political tool to get political advantage rather than upliftment of poor or Backward Classes. What do you Proud Indians think?

reservation in india
Politics in India greatly uses the tool reservation. The Indians are very well divided by the politics into various class such as the ST, SC, and BC. These people are preffered over the other caste people in the name of social justice. The other caste section is left aside by the Indian politics. Politicians also accumulate large number of votes in the name of these classes of people.

Reservation In India
From golden days India is following caste system, but this caste system was never meant to divide the people of the country. Its main purpose was to give employment to everyone by specializing in their field of the skill and art. However, over the time, the main purpose completely evaded and it is now used more as a political tool for gaining votes. There is nothing bad with reservation, but the way it is implemented by the political authorities, that will surely create more of complications. Reservations should be done in a way to support the deprived people, by encouraging them to make them capable of reaching a certain level. Reservation does not mean empowering them in wrongful ways. If they deserve a rightful power and position, they should have it; but in order to earn few votes, they should not be a given what they rightfully do not deserve. This is not merely a matter of votes; this is a matter of country’s reputation, success and growth.

In my opinion, reservation is nothing but a reminder for people to discriminate!!
will you ever be able to develop a soft corner for the reserved class if your son is unable to bag a seat in a competitive exam because the seat was reserved for SC,ST or OBC? or even women?
if we are looking forward to a sovereign state, its important to shred all such frills from our constitution and keep it plain, simple and basis, where every indian has equal fundamental and constitutional rights.
PS: although a woman, i still dont believe in 'ladies first' !

yes i totally agree... old politicians created reservation to give social justice to the class of people who were discriminated basing on their social status. but these days politicians are using it as mere way of exploiting people's votes. it just reminds them of that they still belong to the class of socially backward people. the SC ,BC, ST people are still called the same!!!!(you have categorized them into classes) where is the change i don't understand...except that they are given additional benefits.

In my view the reservation system should be completely rooted out from our country because it creates division amongst ourselves. Though we do not talk of any castes or religions, the reservation system keeps on reminding us that we are still socially divided and prejudiced. I do not think we need anymore of the so called social justice for we are financially backward and need financial upliftment of the sections of society.

Reservation system in India is causing a lot of distress to the students while pursuing higher education. Govt. must atleast remove this system of preference in Higher education because at that point it should be a fair competition between the students of all the castes and creeds. Ironically, this reservation system exists even in employment system.

In my view the reservation system should be utterly deracinated from our country as it creates barrier among our own country men. It is a curse for us as it constructs a wall of discrimination and makes people look down upon one another. Reservation system is creating anguish and hindrance for the students who aspire to pursue higher education. This should not exist especially in the professional course so that the deserving candidates are demotivated from their goal. It is a democratic country like India, where everyone is equal why the question of reservation arises?
