Question National spirit: Dead or still with us?

Hello, everyone! Is our National spirit strong enough to get stirred by even such small things? Is it in our culture to realize the patriotic feelings via such activities...or they cannot go beyond the arguments about diversities?

National spirit comes to the fore at the time of sports events or national calls given by some like Anna Hazare. However, with overpopulation and rampant corruption in all the four pillars of democracy and even more so in defence forces, future is bleak.Only youth can give some hope because nothing is impossible and Indians can wait upto ages.

In my view, National spirit is dormant inside every India. A small spark can lite the fire of nationalism inside the heart of every India. It can be observed in a game of cricket when everyone comes out united supporting the nation. The upcoming youth do have a sense of nationalism and I believe it is still in the heart of every Indian.

National spirit is still present in today's generation.Even though today's youth dont seem patriotic but when needed they know how to voice their demands.Recently we could see how everyone stood up for the Jan lok pal bill to be passed. In today's time youth are educated and knows how our ancestors have struggled for the country's independence.

National spirit is still alive in the hearts of every Indian be it the youth or the older generation. National spirit can be well observed specially during a cricket match or any other such sports where India participates. People today do not shout about being patriot but all stand together when there arises any issue of national concern.

The spirit of Nationalism is still present in the hearts of every Indian whether living in India or abroad. Nevertheless, it is not very often witnessed but in some special occasions it can be seen. Especially during any cricket match where India plays, any competition where India participates and during special occasions like Independence Day and Republic day, the spirit of Nationalism can be witnessed among every India devoid of caste, sex, religion, language and age.

The spirit of nationalism seems to be lost, perhaps due to immense modernization. The lack of national spirit is the cause of many problems in India like corruption, terrorism etc which is creating havoc in the whole Indian society. It is time to awaken the spirit of nationalism in the heart of every Indian in order to change the whole scenario of India and make it a better nation to live.
