Thread: Football should be encouraged

Dear all,
To lift the face of Indian sports,football should be encouraged.At least some importance should be given.Footballers should be paid atleast 25% money what cricketers are being paid.This will attract more youths, so that they will see a bright future in football also.The expenditure needed for this is mere when compared to what we spend for cricket.

yes i think it is time we should shift our concentration from cricket and look for new games as well. we just can support one game in which we have just one world cup!! there is hockey as well. football is very energetic game and i think we should support it. india can do well in this game. we have many players from west bengal and assam who are football champions. indian goverment should encourage them and get them good coaching to qualify for next FIFA!!

football is great played and cherished by the east in some parts of north india also we can see people playing football. so it is a growing sport in our country. we have fans of football praising other nations during the fifa world cup. why support our own football team and give it good sponsoring and make it get into the fifa. its the negligence and ignorance of government and media which is making other sport lag.

India should advance football. the whole world is playing football, and India with a population of over a billion people, we got a big potential.

Of course football should be encouraged in india just like any other game such as cricket, hockey and golf. India is a country that has countless talented people but those people usually do not get their way due to the prevailing corruption. Football is the most famous game around the world may be more than cricket and must be encouraged in india as well.

Football is the most famous and most played sport in the world. excepted in the former english colonies is cricket not a well known sport, they even never heard about cricket.

india is only behind cricket as if there are no other games exists in india. There are many other games that government should take initiative in promoting those games such as hockey, football, basketball and soccer. Football should be encouraged as this game has a great scope in and around the world. government and parents should give stress on youngsters and children on playing football apart from cricket.

Why we all are after games which are originated from the other countries like cricket, football rugby etc. Why are we not interested in promoting our own game hockey? even government is showing no interest in the game and becoming indifferent towards the national sport. Why should we promote football why not the national game. These things are out of my mind and I am sure people even want to go for these international games rather than playing their national game.

No doubt football is an interesting game than cricket. There's no need of any encouragement to develop football interest in india. I don't think cricket was encouraged before kapil dev's world cup win in lords. Now Indians are quite bored with cricket and forwarding to football, so I hope and wish to see Indian national foot ball team in FIFA.

Who does not want many sports and opportunities in their country? everyone wants to engage themselves in some sports which is based internationally and played by people all around the world. If we are giving hype to cricket then why not football as this is the most popular game in the world.
