The future of Indian hockey
We proudly call hockey as our national game. Is it still making us proud? Once we were the unparalleled emperor of the game. We had players like Dhyanchand. In Olympics we bagged the gold medal consecutively from 1928 to 1956. We defeated USA in Los Angeles Olympics with a record margin of 24-1.
But where has the gory gone? We are continuously failing to perform? People have lost interest. Where is the fault? We have to start wining again. We must have to revive the interest of the people.
How many of us know the names of our hockey players? Many of us even don’t know that “World Cup Hockey” is being played in India”. It’s also the duty of the media to give adequate coverage to the hockey players. Glamor, name and fame must be associated with the game of hockey.
We have budding talents in every corner of the country. The sport authority of Indian should groom the talents. The infrastructure of hockey should also be developed across the country. We need more hockey stadiums in our nation. Many districts in our country don’t have a single hockey stadium. It’s our national game and everyone should have the opportunity and infrastructure to try their hands in this game. We have the talents. But they need to be groomed to take on the world again. Yes, we have the potential to show our prominence again in the game. The future of Indian hockey is bright if we prepare ourselves to see it bright.

Hello

As you all Indians Know Hockey is the national game of India. But the Indian Hockey players are not getting as much support as they should get from the proud Indians. Here more emphasis is given to cricket. National and international Hockey tournament should be organized in India frequently.Like cricket the hockey player should get more financial support from the sponsored group and from tournament organizers.

the future of indian hockey seems to be very diminished as our country men are focusing on cricket. though india has a very good history in the hockey game it is not able to grasp attention of indians. the reason behind this is irrational craze behind the game of cricket. people should also focus on games like hockey which is our national game.

indian hockey has become a bed time story to the indians. people can only talk about the good old times when once india was leading champion in the game. but with the not so worthy indian cricket team, all other sports are losing concentration. even the government is not doing much on supporting indian hockey. media should also concentrate on hockey rather than wasting time on cricket.

Indian Hockey is going well. You are missing a point here. People love other games like cricket over hockey. You can't change what people like. But yes, recently the performance level of our hockey players went down but they are trying hard to rise up and are succeeding. Government has always played its part. Don't blame the government always.

Of course it is only the government flaws that is unable to make hockey popular around the world. It is our national game and see what government is doing towards its promotion. There is no money in hockey and no popularity that people get. If you do not get recognition and money at the same time you will not be able to show the complete interest in the game. Why youngsters are more inclined towards cricket and not hockey the reason is very obvious.

Future of indian hockey seems to be dull as government and even parents are not paying any attention towards this sport. Hockey is the national game of india and still it is not given that importance which other games are getting. Government should encourage students and children o play hockey at school, colleges and national level.
