Durga Pooja is considered as the main festival of benngalis and they celebrate it like anything important in their lives. This is also called as Navaratrein and Dashera in various parts of the nation. Durga is known as the goddess who fight against all demons and evils. People celebrate this festival with full joy and carores of ruppes were spent on the making of the durga statues. Huge statues were made at that time and later on were dipped in to the sea near by. People decorate the statue with different materials from pulses to leaves and spices to thermocol.

Durga pooja is celebrated with romp and pomp all around the indian nation. But Bengalis celebrate it with utmost delight as they find it their most important festival of the year. Idols of Godess Durga mata are displayed at various places where people come together to have a glimpse of beautifully carved and huge statues of the godess. This is something which cannot be seen elsewhere in the world apart from india.

Durga Puja is the most important festival of West Bengal and it is celebrated at a very large scale in the parts of Bengal including Durgapur, Dhanbad, Kolkata, Putki etc. This festival has its own importance and Goddess Durga was worshiped at this day.
